MORTON -- Paul B. Joos, 74, of 107 Sycamore Ave. died at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 1994, at his residence. Born Oct. 14, 1919, in Tenney, Minn., to Ernest and Louise Aupperle Joos, he married Margaret L. Holliger on April 18, 1943, in Morton. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Robert P. of Morton; two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Patricia) Poertner of Groveland and Rebecca Winter of Morton; four brothers, John of Princeville, William of Deer Creek, George of Morton and Sam of Edwards; three sisters, Frieda Joos of Peoria, Emma Ackerman of Deer Creek and Mrs. Harold (Louise) Winemiller of Washington; five grandchildren; and one stepgrandson. Two brothers, two sisters and one grandson preceded him in death. A member of Bricklayers Union Local 3 in Peoria, he was a self-employed mason contractor in Morton for more than 30 years, retiring in 1975. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Morton American Legion Post 318. He also was a member of Morton Apostolic Christian Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at his church. The church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. BUDA, IL - Robert D. Joos, 64, of Buda passed away peacefully at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, surrounded by his family at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Robert was born June 12, 1949, in Peoria, the son of Robert K. and Zelma Lorene Rummerfield Joos. He married Rebecca R. Roger on June 1, 1968, in Chillicothe, Ill. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Kimberly S. Joos of Eureka, Robert A. (Angie) Joos of Neponset and John A. Joos, Amy R. Joos and Thomas W. (Crystal) Joos, all of Buda; five grandchildren, Kyle, Trent, Molly, Anthony Moore and Megan Eble; his mother, Lorene Joos of Peoria; two brothers, Ronald (Christy) Joos of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Ralph (Jenny) Joos of Castleton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Robert was a farmer for 42 years. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord and his church. Robert K. "Bob" Joos, 84, of Peoria, formerly of Chillicothe, passed away at 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at the Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria. He was born on March 9, 1926, near Speer, Ill., to Emil and Lena (Musselman) Joos. He married Zelma Lorene Rummerfield on July 6, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter and Charles Joos, and one great-grandson. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Lorene of Peoria; three sons, Robert D. (Rebecca) Joos of Buda, Ill., Ronald E. (Christy) Joos of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Ralph E. (Jenny) Joos of Wyoming, Ill. Also surviving are two brothers, Duane (Penny) Joos of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Christian D. (Diane) Joos of Schuarita, Ariz.; one sister, Margaret Meisinger of Metamora; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II before being honorably discharged. He was a farmer for over 55 years in Medina Township and several years in Davis County, Iowa, as well before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau and the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church on Sheridan Road. Bob served as a trustee at the church and taught Sunday school for many years. A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall, 7329 W. U.S. Route 150 in Edwards, Ill. A funeral will be on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at 10 a.m., with visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church on Sheridan Road, with the church ministers officiating. Bob was employed in maintenance and environmental services at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton for 29 years. He also previously worked as a brick mason for many years. BRIMFIELD - Samuel A. Joos, 76, of 10902 W. Cottonwood Road died at 11:25 am. Friday, July 19, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born Sept. 1, 1925, in Tenney, Minn., to Ernest and Louise Aupperle Joos, he married Grace Lovins on April 239 1955, in DeSoto County, Miss. Surviving are three sons, Kenneth (and Connie), Keith and Kent, all of Brimfield; one daughter, Kay (and Kenneth) Bright of Tremont; two sisters, Emma Ackerman of Deer Creek and Louise Winemiller of Washington; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters, and one infant sibling. He was a self-employed bricklayer and owned and operated Joos Bros. Walter W. Joos, 79, of Princeville, formerly of Chillicothe, died at 12:51 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2001, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Born March 24, 1922, in Edelstein, Illinois, the son of Emil and Lena Musselman Joos, he married Caroline Julia Miller January 16, 1949, in Peoria. She died June 24, 1990, in Peoria. He later married Janet Price Martin December 29, 1996, in Princeville. She survives. He was a World War II Army Infantry Veteran. He farmed in the Monica and Chillicothe areas, and also worked for Caterpillar Inc, for 20 years, first in the Machine Shop, then in assembly, and last in sanitation, until retiring in 1987. He also volunteered at Parkhill Nursing Home, Chillicothe; Apostolic Christian Skylines, Peoria; OSF St. Francis Medical Center Main Building; and most recently OSF Center for Health. In Alta to Ernest and Louise Aupperle Joos, he married Clementine M. Knapp on April 14, 1934. In Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Glenn and Loren, both of Deer Creek; two daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Arletta) Martin of Eureka and Mrs. Norman (Eileen) Musselman of Deer Creek; two brothers, George of Morton and Sam of Kickapoo; three sisters, Frieda Joos at Peoria, Emma Ackerman of Deer Creek and Mrs. Harold (Louise) Winemiller of Washington; 20 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Four brothers, two sisters and one grandson preceded him in death. He was a farmer from 1939 until retiring in 1994. He was a member of Goodfield Apostolic Christian Church, where he taught Sunday school for 14 years. He was a board member of Deer Creek-Mackinaw School Board and later became president. He was one of the founders of Deer Creek PTA Pancake Supper and an honorary life member of the Deer Creek PTA. He was a founder of Deer Creek Rural Fire Department. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at his church, With church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home, Morton, and from 9 to 9:45 am. Monday at the church. Washington - Neva Jean Kelley Waller, 72, of Washington, IL, formerly of Carlock, passed away at home after a 10-year struggle with dementia and was welcomed home by Jesus into heaven on Saturday, April 9, 2016. She was born on December 21, 1943 in Peoria, IL a daughter of Joseph Vernon and Eleanor Klopfenstein Kelley. She married Samuel Anthony Waller on May 17, 1964 in Morton, IL. He survives. Also surviving are her four children, Jeff (Pansy) Waller of San Angelo, TX; Jody (Tom) Bunton of Washington, IL; Daniel (Stacy) Waller of Eureka, IL; Natalie Waller of Bloomington, IL; one sister, Kay Alberts of Springfield, IL; one brother, John (Marcia) Kelley of Morton, IL; 15 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She is also survived by many foster children whom she and her husband welcomed into their home over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents. Neva graduated from Morton High School and worked as an office manager at Illinois State University. She loved the Lord and was an avid prayer warrior. She and her friend Yvonne Huber formed a musical group with their families, The Nevonne Melody Makers, which made two albums and traveled to numerous churches and camps singing about the Lord. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Liberty Bible Church in Eureka. Rev. Ron Workman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Tuesday also at Liberty Bible Church and from 10:30 - 11:00 prior to the services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in East White Oak Union Cemetery.
