  	Morton - Geneva M. Joos, 90, of Morton, passed away at 1:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Snyder Village in Metamora. She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Flora, Ill. to Curtis S. and Essie F. (Pennington) Brown. She married Joseph L. Borton Jan. 4, 1941in Ill. He preceded her in death in April of 1969. She later married George R. Joos on March 2, 1968 in Morton. He passed away Feb. 11, 2001. She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Surviving are son, Jerry L. Borton of Boynton Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Donna K. (Bob) Doerr of Metamora; two stepdaughters, Sharon (Jim) Waller of Morton and Marilyn (Ron) Hanson of Lincoln, Neb.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one niece; two nephews and their families. Geneva lived in southern Illinois until 1941. She lived the rest of her life in East Peoria, Peoria and Morton. She worked as a realtor for 20 years. Geneva also worked at Baurer Furniture for three years. Geneva enjoyed life to the fullest. She also enjoyed her time spent with friends and family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed deeply by everyone whom’s life she touched. Geneva was a member of Grace Church in Morton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, with Rev. Glyn Knight and Rev. Tim Bertsche officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton. Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to Grace Church or St. Jude Runners Association.
