  	Ernest R. Schaefer TREMONT Ernest R. Schaefer, 79, Tremont, died at 1:15 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 28, 1987) at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Apostolic Christian Church, Tremont, church ministers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Davis Mortuary, Tremont. He was born Nov. 18, 1907, in Lawn Ridge, a son of Henry and Caroline Joos Schaefer. He married Frieda M. Hartter on June 2, 1940, in Goodfield. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Maurice E., Tremont, and Ernest D., West Lake Village, Calif.; four daughters, Josephine A. Schaefer and Kathy Zuercher, both of Tremont; Karen Martin, Plymouth, Mich.; and Linda Ziegenhorn, Olathe, Kan.; five brothers, Emil, John, Otto, Anton and Herman, all of Hancock, Minn.; two sisters, Martha Schaefer and Lydia Hermann, both of Peoria; and 17 grandchildren. graduate of Winn Streator Township High School.
