- Greta Ann Aupperle, 81, of Fairbury, died at 8:29 p.m. Saturday (May 31, 2014) at her residence in Fairbury.
Her funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Fairbury, with the Rev. George Russell officiating. Burial will be in Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
The family suggest memorials be given to OSF Hospice, Pontiac, or First United Methodist Church, Fairbury.
Mrs. Aupperle was born April 25, 1933, in Streator, the daughter of Ray LaVon and Hazel Frieda Saemisch Ellis. She married Elias E. Aupperle on Jan. 16, 1955, in Long Point. He survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving are four sons, Dennis R. (Cindy) Aupperle, Princeville; Ronald E. (Vicki) Aupperle, Pontiac; Robert A. (Kristi) Aupperle, Towanda; and Mark D. (Kristi) Aupperle, LeRoy; two daughters, Beth A. (Paul A.) Froidcoeur, Minooka, and Linda S. (Pete) Bergstrom, Monticello; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Donna (Merle) Murray, Normal.
Mrs. Aupperle was a homemaker and formerly worked at Walton’s Department Store, Fairbury. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Fairbury; Rural Youth Group; Country Couples; and was a 50-year member of Home Extension.
Greta will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
