He had been in feeble health for several years, but his condition was not considered serious until a day or two before his death when he developed pneumonia.
He was seventy-five years old, and had lived in Grayson County at the place where he died for fifty years or more. He was born in Germany at Bingen on the Rhine, and came to this country when a little boy some ten or twelve years old. He had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years, was a good citizen, and a prominent man in his section of the county. His wife, six sons and three daughters survive him. The sons are Pete Lesher, or Hardin county, Ambrose, of Jefferson county, Jim, or Louisville, Cliff, of Indiana, John Sim, of Oldham county, and Jacob, of Leitchfield. The daughters are as follows: Mrs. James Day, of Leitchfield, Mrs. J. M. Stover, of Duff, and Mrs. Katie Fife, of St. Joseph, Mo.
Funeral Services were conducted at the Pilgrim Church, near his home Sunday, by Rev. J. N. Lynch. Interment took place immediately afterward in the church yard cemetery.
