- LACON -- Jake F. Duden, 89, of Rural Route 1 died at 5:19 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at Parkhill Medical Complex in Chillicothe.
Born Feb. 7, 1908, in Lyle, Minn., to John and Mattie Tjaden Duden, he married Alice M. Rouse on April 4, 1929, in Minonk. She survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Art of Rutland; one sister, Jeanette Smith of Eureka; three nephews; and seven nieces. Two brothers preceded him in death.
He was an operating engineer for more than 50 years and a member of Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria.
He was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe and a life member of Marshall County Sportsman's Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at his church. The Rev.
Steven Mall will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Thursday at Lenz Memorial Home, Lacon. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his church or Rescue 33.
