- Virginia "Mae" Gannaway, 80, of Normal passed away at 8:10 a.m. Saturday (March 1, 2014) at her home after an extended illness.
She was born on March 21, 1933 in Bloomington, a daughter of Clarence and Marguerite Koch Wilcox. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Donald, Harold, Melvin and Gary Wilcox and two sisters, Rose Otto and Rosealee Wilcox. She married Orville Gannaway on Jan. 12, 1951 in Normal. He survives.
Also surviving are five children, Ron (Karen) Gannaway, Dave (Nola) Gannaway, Pam (Bruce) Naffziger, Julie Golliday and Becky (Doug) Gerig; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Lovekamp; and two brothers, Ralph (Joann) Wilcox and Larry (Tina) Wilcox.
She worked at Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington for several years before becoming a surgical technician at the hospital.
