- Hazel Waller Register, 97, of Sweetwater passed away on August 26, 2014. She was born in Mascot, Tennessee, spent her younger years in Florida and South Carolina and lived in Sweetwater for over 65 years. A graduate of Furman University and the University of Tennessee, she began teaching first grade in 1946 and continued in education as teacher, librarian and principal of Sweetwater Elementary School until her retirement in 1979. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church Sweetwater since 1946 and taught the Phebean Sunday School class for over 40 years. During this time she enjoyed her bible study group and was involved with the Sweetwater Baptist Association on several mission trips. Preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Oran Waller and W.G. Waller, husband, Marion Register and sister, Ruth Bray. Survived by daughters and spouses, Jan and Joe Moore, Sarah and Don Guignard, son, Bob and Rose Register. Grandchildren, Joe A. Moore II, Jay Moore, Bonnie Cannon, Kelly Johnson and spouse Tim, Patrick Cannon and Keri and John Register. Great grandchildren, Shelby Ball and spouse Josh, Colby Moore and spouse Tiana, Constance Day and several nieces and nephews. She was a lovely Christian lady blessed with a long life surrounded by her family and many wonderful friends. The family will receive friends at Sweetwater Memory Chapel on Sunday August 31, 2014 from 1:30-2:30 with service and interment to follow.
