- Linda Lee (Lemm) Stetzler, 74, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Originally from Peoria, Illinois, she graduated from Bradley University, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and met her husband, Jerry. She also completed her Masters in Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Linda taught in Hamilton County elementary schools for over 35 years. She retired in 2013 from Westview Elementary. Upon her retirement, she continued her involvement in the school system by filling a number of interim roles including substituting and volunteering in her grandchildren’s school. She loved teaching and impacted many students over the years, including her own sons and grandchildren. During the pandemic she was incredibly proud to be able to video conference her grandchildren and help with their remote learning. Teaching was not just a career, it was a passion.
Her passion for education and people led her to being an active member of the Philanthropic Education Organization and the Aaron Chattanooga Newcomers Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland & Grace Lemm, and a younger brother, James Lemm.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Jerry Stetzler; son, Andy (Jennifer) Stetzler; son, Jeff (Courtney) Stetzler; grandchildren, Abbie, Parker, and Vivian Stetzler; sister-in-law, Terri Lemm; brother, Bob (Joy) Lemm; mother-in-law Lois Stetzler, nephew Nick (Kacy) Lemm; great niece and nephew, Addison and Max Lemm, and many other sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 10 at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Rd in Chattanooga.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
