In October 1964 he became a member of the Phoenix Fire Department until his retirement in April 1985. While on the Fire Department, he was a Fire Inspector and Engineer and was well known for his meticulous care of Fire Trucks and equipment. His special interests included music, golfing, restoring vintage vehicles, camping, model railroading and anything to do with wheels, power and speed. Jerry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Barbara, his brother Duwain, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Babe, I thank you for your sense of humor. I loved it when we met and it never failed you. In memory of Jerry, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley or to Fire Fighters Charities, 61 East Columbus, Phoenix, Az 85012.
