- FAIRBURY - The funeral of Fredericka S. "Pat" VanLeer, 80, of Fairbury will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury.
The Rev. Larry McMellen will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, and for one hour before the service at the church on Sunday.
Mrs. VanLeer died at 6:39 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 12, 1995) at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
She was born Nov. 18, 1914, in Fairbury, a daughter of Henry and Carrie Armbruster Paternoster. She married Dr. John R. Smith in July of 1940 at Waterloo, Iowa. He died Aug. 26, 1962. She then married John VanLeer in June of 1967. He died in May of 1974.
Surviving are a son, Robert Smith, Pingree Grove; a daughter, Jeanne Kafer, Fairbury; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Two brothers and a grandson preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
