  	William J. “Bill” Michel Jr., 90, of Morton passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. He was born on March 29, 1932, in Peoria to William C. and Bertha (Joos) Michel. Bill married Doris Ann Martin on May 13, 1956, in Princeville, Ill. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2021. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald. Surviving are his sons, Scott (Carrie) Michel, Steven (Catherine) Michel and William Michel III, all of Morton; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Elena) Michel, Sarah (Drake) Irwin, Andrew Michel, Elizabeth Michel, Gabrielle Michel, Blake Michel and Brett Michel; three great-grandchildren, Maxwell Michel, Brooks Michel and Paige Irwin; one sister, Louise (Gerald) Martin of Princeville; one brother, Paul (Helen) Michel of Tremont; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In 1948, at the age of 16, Bill left farming to go to work for his uncle at Joos Brothers Masonry in East Peoria, where he worked until 1968, when he and his brother, Donald, co-founded Michel Brothers Masonry in Morton. Bill retired in 1998. After retirement, he and Doris traveled the country in their RV. Bill attended Morton Apostolic Christian Church and recently gave his heart to the Lord. He was a member of Wilmor Sporting Club and the Tazewell County Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the Bricklayers Local 6 for over 50 years. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Morton Apostolic Christian Church, with Apostolic Christian Church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the service on Monday at the church. Bill's funeral service will be live-streamed and can be viewed via the Morton Apostolic Christian Church website at https://www.mortonacchurch.org. Burial will be in Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
