- LEXINGTON - The funeral of Carl E. Jones, 82, of rural Lexington will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Musselman-Beck Funeral Home, Lexington, the Rev. Robert Adelsperger officiating. Burial will be Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.
He died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday (June 18, 1998) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Memorials may be made to the Lexington Ambulance Service.
He was born Nov. 28, 1915, in Danvers, the son of William and Maude Waller Jones. He married Ruth L. Waugler on Dec. 1, 1933, in Terre Haute, Ind. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn J. Collins, Terre Haute; and Linda L. Stone, Normal; three sons, Donald L. Jones, Bellflower; Robert C. Jones of rural Lexington; and Lawrence Jones, Portland, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson.
Mr. Jones was a tool and dye maker for General Electric. He retired from GE in 1978 after 25 years of service. He graduated from Danvers High School.
